Introducing the Koala Flood Damage Replacement Program

Subsidised pricing for those replacing mattresses and furniture due to flood damage.

Over the past few weeks, Koala has donated 500 mattresses to communities impacted by the recent floods in Queensland and New South Wales.

This was one of the worst flood disasters in recent history and there is still more work to be done.

We know the act of rebuilding will be a long haul.

That’s why we’ve launched the Flood Damage Replacement Program to offer subsidised pricing to those looking to replace furniture due to flooding. 

We’ve allocated up to $300,000 in product subsidies to this program, bringing the total product value of Koala’s flood response contribution to over $500,000.

We know this figure pales in comparison to the massive cost of rebuilding. But it is our hope that this contribution will help make the journey to recovery that little bit easier. 

Who’s eligible?

Households located in the Natural Disaster Declared Local Government Areas (LGAs) in QLD and NSW whose furniture has been damaged in the recent flooding events from 22 February 2022 onwards.

How long will it last? 

Subsidies will be allocated to eligible households on a first come, first serve basis and are valid for use until 31 May 2022. Please note, codes will not be available for use in conjunction with other discounts or during sale periods.

When can I receive my new products?

Estimated delivery dates will be communicated at point of purchase and may vary by product. Please note, some flood-affected locations are facing delivery delays. See our Delivery Guarantee for more information. 

I’m not ready for my new products yet, can I get it delivered at a later date? 

Yes, you will have the option to select a delivery date in the future. 

Will it cost anything to get my products delivered?

We provide FREE delivery for all bedding orders and orders that include a mattress. There are delivery fees for furniture-only rural and regional deliveries

Does Koala make any money from these sales? 

Products are being provided with subsidised pricing which is close to cost price.

Does my damaged furniture or mattress need to have been purchased from  Koala? 

No, any flood damaged furniture or mattress is eligible for the program. 

What should I do with my damaged furniture? 

Please contact your local council regarding damaged furniture collection. 

Does Koala’s 120 night trial apply to subsidised furniture?

Koala is unable to offer our 120 Night Trial on products purchased under the Flood Damage Replacement Program Subsidy, however all products are covered under the Koala warranty. 

Terms and Conditions 

Subsidised pricing under this program is available to eligible households living in the Natural Disaster Declared LGAs whose home or furniture has been damaged in the recent flooding events from 22 February 2022 onwards. 

Only one subsidised pricing code can be used per eligible household. There is a maximum subsidised purchase value of $3,000AUD per eligible household.

Determination of household eligibility and the provision of subsidised pricing is at the sole discretion of Koala.

Koala reserves the right to request verification of the identity and residential address of applicants for this program and any other information relevant to eligibility to receive subsidised pricing.

Koala reserves the right to disqualify an applicant or cancel a subsidised pricing code if it believes that the applicant has not genuinely been impacted by the flooding events. 

The subsidised pricing codes will be valid for use by eligible households until 31 May 2022. 

Subsidised pricing is non transferable and non-refundable.

Subsidised pricing is valid only for purchase of full priced items and can not be applied in conjunction with any other discounts or used during sale periods.

Personal information including an applicant’s name, address, telephone number and email will be collected and used for the purpose of facilitating this program.

By providing your personal information to Koala, you consent to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of that information as described in Koala’s Privacy Policy.

Koala reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this program or amend these terms and conditions, at any time.
