The Koala Timber Bed Base is a real beaut, so it’s no wonder that it won the Good Design Award. It has a minimalistic design and is made with a timber veneer, which is a natural wood product and when properly cared for, it will last a long time and still look beautiful.
Regular maintenance
We recommend dusting the bed base regularly using a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Afterward, dry it using a soft cloth in the direction of the wood grain. Avoid aerosol-powered cleaners or polishes, polishes containing waxes or abrasives, or polishes that are oil-based as this may damage the product.
How to clean up spills
Spills should be immediately wiped up with a soft dry cloth. Some liquids may cause the veneer to discolour or stain if not cleaned immediately. If you have stubborn dirt, clean the surface with a soft cloth dampened in mild soapy water in the direction of the wood grain. Wipe Dry with a soft-lint free cloth.
How can I stop the mattress sliding?
We provide free silicon non-stick pads to help the mattress in place. If you’d like to be sent a pack, please contact the Customer Support team at support@koala.com.
Can you customise the bed base?
The bed base is coated with a water-based liquid coating. In combination with the use of a primer, the bed base can be painted. However, any painting, varnishing or staining the wood will void any warranty, and the product will no longer be eligible for return within the 120-night trial.
What’s the maximum weight limit?
The maximum weight limit is 600kgs.
Can I store things under the Koala Timber Bed Base?
Of course! The timber bed base has plenty of space with 2 open compartments on each side that are 600mm x 90mm.
